A Day in Nova Scotia

I could not wait to wake up the next morning to enjoy our first full day in Nova Scotia.  For about a year now, I've wanted to visit the Sliding House, designed by architect Brian Mackay-Lyons.  If you look closely at some of these photos, you can see the house looks like it's sliding down the hillside.  Waking up in a modern beach house clad entirely in poplar wood and with killer views of the Bay and Ocean and hillside with your family beside you is the best kind of vacation.

The weather was fantastic so we headed to the Town of Lunenburg, a hilly fishing town with an impressive collection of restaurants, cafes and little shops with some serious treasures.  I did a lot of window shopping and saved the real buying for another day.  After we scoped out the town, we headed back to the Sliding House to change and hit the beach. The Atlantic Ocean that far up north is cold but the Bay was incredibly warm.  The boys swam and played the afternoon away.
