Ski Trip to Snowshoe Mountain
It's getting repetitive, right?
The snow hasn't been great for skiers this season but our snow bunnies have been kicking it anyway. The school calendar gave us an almost 4-day weekend and C planned a trip to Snowshoe Mountain. If you remember, last year over the holidays we were all going to Snowshoe until 3 out of 4 of us came down with the flu. If you've never been to Snowshoe, C has some tips for you. The ski instructors are very friendly and also very relaxed. Unfortunately, ski rentals is not customer-friendly. Generally unhelpful staff and an inefficient ticketing system leads to long lines. The mountain itself has some nice, long runs and steep terrain for some good skiing. The resort area itself is nice but resort-y meaning you are a captive audience. The restaurants are expensive but the food is just ok. If you want to prepare meals yourself, get groceries on the way to Snowshoe as there isn't really anything there besides a small market.
All of these photos are stills captured from GoPro video - unedited. Not bad. BB and DD are enthusiastic as can be about skiing right now. C has one more trip planned before calling it.
