Little Citizens

Although we hadn't been pointedly discussing the Presidential race with the boys, there is no escaping it.  Trump says or tweets vile things at least daily so its hard to avoid.  His beliefs are so immoral and offensive that I feel it's my obligation as a parent to share some of this with BB and DD. Last week the much anticipated first debate was on.  It didn't start until after the boys' bedtime but I figured it was important enough for them to see the candidates and assess them on their own.

So we let them stay up and watch for almost 90 minutes.  To BB and DD's credit, they were tired but they listened.  At around 10:30, I sent them up to bed and recorded the remainder to finish the next day.  We talked about their questions on some of the issues that were raised and we listened to what their reactions were.  I'm glad we allowed it.  These little citizens will be exercising their voting muscles soon enough.  Two more Presidential elections and BB will be voting.  Woah!
