A Great Weekend
It's amazing what a little warm weather can do. We had one of those weekends where last minute things develop but all of it works out. I took the boys to their last skating lesson of this session and then the three of us had a fun lunch together. We spent the afternoon outdoors and then in the evening, we took the boys to a steakhouse. Afterwards, we walked around and came upon the ice skating rink. They were both game so we set them out on their first free skate. We couldn't get BB off the ice! DD and I did a little shopping afterwards to get a jump on stocking up on their warm weather clothes before heading home for the night - way past their bed time. But BB announced that it was a really exciting evening, one of his best. So wonderful to hear and a reminder that we need to take them out more and maybe be looser with bedtimes on the weekends.
I guess Spring is one of those seasons. Beautiful as it is, I always think of it as a transitional time, something that happens on our way to Summer. It's probably unfair because Spring is so lovely but that's just how I think of it. So looking onward toward Summer, one of the camps the boys will be attending had their open house Sunday morning. We drove out to the country to visit the 60-acre campus of this outdoor camp. It definitely will be a new adventure for BB and DD and I'm hoping they are going to love it.
