It's Snowing
There was a snowfall the other night in D.C. Did you see it? If you were at National Harbor, you would have. On a whim we took the boys to National Harbor, our first time. Now that we've gone, I did wonder why we had not gone there before. It's close enough and there is a ton to do and see. Even on a cold night National Harbor was teeming with people. They had a wonderful Christmas Market full of artists and crafters.
We skipped all the shopping to do what we really came to do, and that was to check out the holiday show the Gaylord puts on. This year's theme was Disney-related and to the boys' delight Kungfu Panda was there. Even though we probably haven't seen the entire movie, BB and DD know Kungfu Panda and was pretty excited to see him wave and dance. (Other characters included Shrek and Fiona, Puss in Boots, and others we didn't recognize). The show is a combination of the Disney characters dancing, a light and water show, the lighting of the Gaylord Christmas tree, and then the indoor snowfall. It's like a little piece of Las Vegas right here in D.C.
After the show we wondered over to one of the many National Harbor restaurants. But because of a book BB is reading, he's had hot dogs on his mind since the morning. For once in our lives there were no hot dogs on the kids' menu. As luck would have it, there was a little gourmet market a few blocks down that packages of hot dogs. Did you know that we cut open the package and nuked their hot dogs in the little microwave they had in the market? Hahaha. That's called class.
