Summer Road Trip 2017: Leelanau, Michigan

Even though we are experiencing our first taste of fall weather here in D.C., I want to take a look back at our most recent vacation.  The next leg of our trip took us Up North in Michigan.  We rented a modern cabin on Lake Leelanau.  Surrounding us were several small towns, each with its own beaches, shops and restaurants.  After settling in the for the evening, we woke up the next morning to explore Leland and Fishtown.  From the center of the village, we walked a short path to a beach and the boys couldn't help but go swimming in their clothes.  We had lunch and shopped for souvenirs in the dozens of little shops before heading back to change.

Before it got too late, we headed back into town to grab some coffee and enjoy the solar eclipse!  And because we love to explore, we headed to the town of Suttons Bay to check out its ice cream shops. Then the boys went for a swim again before the sun went down.
