Summer 2017 Recap

We had a really great summer.  Our two planned vacations were exactly what we needed and with shorter trips in between, it really feels as though we squeezed everything we could out of summer. The camps we chose (new and old) were hits with both BB and DD.  In fact, a last minute addition to our line up this year was sailing camp, which was a fun learning experience for the boys.  They had a successful swim season and we made it a point to visit the pool for fun.

The Labor Day weekend gave us a chance to unwind, get organized, and relax before school started yesterday.  Between errands and renovating the hall bathroom, we found time to take a trip to Scott's Run.  Not surprisingly, the boys could not stay out of the stream or the river.
Now that school has started, activities aren't far behind.  By this time next week, our schedules will go back to the normal rhythms of the other 9 months of the year.  Even though we're all still suntanned and I'm still finding sand in my pockets, the first signs of fall have made their appearance. It's not all sad though; fall always brings a new chance to be productive, a fresh start.
