Our Busy Life Lately
It was one of those weekends - lots we wanted to do, lots we had to do, and gorgeous weather as the backdrop. On Friday, C and I squeezed in a decadent lunch date - Peking Duck, a wonderful treat. Both our cars went in for maintenance this weekend so it was a scheduling game to make sure we have a car to get around.
Although I wasn't planning on it, I saw this gorgeous fiddle leaf fig while we were shopping for other house items and had to have it. It was a bit of a show trying to get this thing in the car and home uninjured but it seems like we survived. Look at how my new boyfriend dwarfs the fiddle leaf fig I've been nurturing all this time. I have a bit of a jungle going on by the windows in our dining room and I'm loving the contrast between the greenery inside and that outside.
After our errands we all wanted to get outside to enjoy the sunshine but with our big plans in the evening, we stayed close by. We took the boys to Cabin John Park (their choice) for the first time in a long time. That left us enough time to clean up and change into our fancy clothes...
...and hit The Palm to celebrate C's Birthday from a week and a half ago! BB and DD were a hit with all the waitstaff and even scored a tour of the busy kitchen. They each ordered their own 26 ounce prime rib (just like their daddy); and polished them off without difficulty. We spent the rest of the balmy evening walking our old neighborhood, visiting our old house, browsing in the bookstore, and grabbing coffee and ice cream. It was one of those magical nights where everything was just right. Happy Birthday to C!
