Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary
We were really spoiled this past weekend with beautiful weather. By shuffling all our errands to Sunday and the work week, we had almost all of Saturday free and drove out to Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary, a destination that had been on my list for a few years.
Jug Bay did not disappoint. Once we mapped out the trail we wanted to take, we were immersed in nature. Osprey flew overhead and water plants as tall as me blew in the warm breeze while we walked the boardwalks in search of wildlife. The boys spotted a frog, many colorful butterflies, ants, bees, dragonflies, a mama robin feeding her babes, osprey, and tadpoles. Unlike some of our other favorite nature spots, Jug Bay is crowd-free (so I'm really letting you in on a secret!).
We will definitely be back in the fall to experience the changing landscape and walk some of the trails we left untouched. It's been a few weeks since we've had a nice walk in nature. BB and DD were enthusiastic as ever about everything they saw and heard, excited to be in their happy place.
