Winter Beach Getaway

It seems we've started a new practice in our family - mini-vacations with just one parent!  They're a fun way to get more hands on time with the kids.  This past long weekend was my turn and we planned a trip to Bethany Beach.  A trip to the beach in the winter has long been on our list of to-dos. There really is no bad time to go to the beach as far as BB and DD are concerned.

The weather ended up being overcast and foggy at night but we had a great time.  Lots of meals at nice restaurants, just the three of us.  We visited all of our favorite beaches and squeezed in some shopping as well.  It's nice to move to this new phase of life where the boys are responsible enough to help me and help themselves on trips.  The trip was entirely stress-free for me.  We stayed right in downtown on the beach, and because it's the off-season, parking anywhere was plentiful and easy.  

So is this going become a regular thing in our family?  I don't know but when C and I have different work schedules and demands, this gives us the flexibility to still go on a trip and maximize our time off.
