Someone asked me how our vacation was today. It took me a moment to remember that we had been away. A week back and the feeling has evaporated almost entirely. I know the conventional wisdom is that you work hard and when you play hard, it's so much sweeter. I'm starting to think maybe that is just something someone made up to make us work hard. I can see having a month with my family on a beach somewhere wouldn't be too much.
It's time for another major transition at work. It will happen in the coming weeks. In fact, it's something great for me, but these days, work is work. It feels flat, requires so much effort, and does not recharge me in any way. I'm hoping this move will make a difference.
