Exploring A New Place

I so look forward Saturdays ever since we decided on not scheduling them with classes and activities.  Usually by Friday I will have a couple of ideas on what it is we should do.  This past Saturday we decided to explore Old Town Frederick.  It's about an hour's drive from our home.  I didn't plan much; we just drove north and decided to find what we found.

Luckily, Frederick is an incredibly vibrant yet quaint small town.  Market Street, and it's many side streets, are lined with bakeries, coffee shops, boutiques and restaurants.  We stopped by their farmer's market for a look and saw the first pumpkins of the season.  DD bought lemon cupcakes.  Next we headed for some shopping in the cute stores.  The boys found toys and other items.  We also came upon a great toy store that was celebrating it's 25th anniversary with a sale and a carnival.  There were more great finds, including germ plush toys that BB had first found at the Island Bookstore in OBX.  We had not come upon them again until Saturday.  Yes, BB was more than happy to bring home e.coli, chickenpox, and staph.

After lunch, we stopped by the carnival where they played games and had balloon toys made.  There was no time for it but we found that the town even has a fair.  Next time.
