A Chapter Ends

By the time most of you read this, we will be sitting at closing, selling what has been our home for the last 7 1/2 years.  We bought our charming row house right when we found out I was pregnant with BB.  At the time we had just purchased a loft not too far away but even we knew that a home with no interior walls wasn't going to be the best choice for a newborn.  We found a designer and contractor before we even moved in and they measured and drew up plans on the same day we moved in.  Our renovations were extensive and took us right up to BB's birth.  Less than two years later, along came DD and just like that we became a complete family.

The past 7 1/2 years have been the happiest of my life in that home of ours.  Last night after soccer, we took the boys over to say goodbye to the only home they've ever known.  The summer weather has continued here in D.C. and it was glorious on the roof deck.  But the house already felt as though it wasn't ours anymore.

BB really said it best - goodbye and thank you for being a wonderful home to our little family.  We've loved every minute of it.

(If you want a peak inside, for those of you who know the address, type in the house number and street with a .com for a photo tour).
