Spring Break 2019: London Part II
Our London adventures continue. The next morning after breakfast, we headed out to East London to visit Spitalfields Market. This is an area of London that was new to us and if you have the time, I highly recommend a visit to the many market stalls and shops in the area. Our original plan was to take a double-decker bus to tour the Parliament area but we learned that due to the Extinction Rebellion, some of the main roads and bridges were shut down. Instead we took a double-decker west to Marylebone and shopped around. We meandered our way back home, stopping in Liberty of London where BB found his perfect tie.
After dinner and a break, we headed back out to Oxford Circus on a mission to buy a personalized football (soccer) jersey for DD. On the way we saw the protesters and the famous pink boat parked in the middle of Oxford Circus. It actually made for a fun time as all the main streets were closed to traffic and shoppers could walk in the streets with ease. After a few unsuccessful attempts at other shops, Niketown came through with DD's dream jersey. There was even a DJ in the multi-level store!
