Kauai - Part II
While in Kauai, we fell into nice routine everyday. I prepared breakfast for the boys each morning - something good and filling so they could swim and hike until lunchtime without worry. Then C and I would venture out for coffee and lattes. We loved Little Fish Coffee and the coffee bar at Living Foods Market. At Little Fish Coffee I would always get one of their bowls, usually the sunrise bowl - pitaya, acai, papaya, mango, strawberries, passion fruit, granola, honey.
Then a walk to the beach for some exploring. BB and DD loved the rocky shore of the beach where they found little tide pools with crabs and fish.
We were off to hike to some waterfalls on the second day along the coconut shores of Kauai - the eastern shores. It was the hottest day of our two weeks in Hawaii so we took a lot of shave ice and shopping breaks between the hiking. On the way was Kapaa, a town that is chock full of shops and cafes. We heard about a delicious smoked chicken place and picked that up for lunch. I also found some great shops including Kiko.
In the evening we went back to Old Koloa Town, which was about 5 minutes from our rental, for dinner. After the boys went to bed, I had a long shower and hot cup of tea before drifting off.
