From Winter Straight to Summer

We finally got a warm day!  A hot day, really.  I had my eye on the forecast promising a beautiful Saturday all week.  We promised a trip to a local beach.  After morning sports, we all donned shorts and t-shirts, brought shovels and buckets, and packed a picnic lunch for our outing.

The water was still pretty chilly from the long winter, but it didn't stop BB and DD from wading in to "fish."  We usually spend most of our time in the smaller ponds and tidepools, but the Bay was filled with jellyfish (the very small kind that don't seem to really sting).  DD spent all afternoon catching jellyfish and bringing them to shore, while BB was the caretaker, making sure they had plenty of clean water.  In the end, he told DD it was time to release them back to the wild.

Our family needed a day like this to bask in the sun and enjoy each other's company.
