Extended Birthdays
Next was BB's turn. His real birthday came first - another family celebration with the grandparents, dinner and cake and some presents. Then the festivities really began when my brother and his fiancee came down from NY. The boys love their uncle and it was a 48-hour swordfest over the weekend. The action only paused when we had to attend BB's birthday party! We hired his favorite magician Turley to entertain the 30 kids(!), followed by cake and pizza. We were going for a train ride as well but the earlier thunderstorm made the park ranger shut down the train. The kids didn't seem to mind a bit. I didn't have time to take photos of the decorated room but I do have some good shots of DD and BB at the party that I will upload later. All four grandparents were in attendance as well as BB's best friends from school and from outside of school. The joy on his face was a beautiful thing to see. This mama will continue to plan birthday bashes just to catch that moment of unbridled glee on their mugs!
Oh yes, and in between we usually have a joint celebration for the boys, just the four of us. It's a lot of cakes and cupcakes all around.
